Definition of a heat press

A transfer press in the textile industry is a specialized machine used to transfer graphics, patterns or designs from a substrate to textiles. These presses play a crucial role in the production of printed garments, such as T-shirts, hoodies or sportswear, by enabling the precise and permanent application of graphics to the fabric.

The process begins with the desired design being printed on a special transfer paper. The transfer paper is then carefully placed on the textile. Closing the transfer press applies heat and pressure to the transfer paper. Under this combination of heat and pressure, the ink of the design melts on the paper and is simultaneously transferred into the fibers of the textile. Once the press is opened, the design remains permanently attached to the textile.
